Happy new year 2010 !
Say bye to 2009 and welcome 2010 ! I wish you the best for this new year, friendship, love, success and health !
What to expect from this new year ?

- The new graphic engine will hopefully come out this year !
- Balance patch
- 14 professionals (including Technogen and myself) to assist FC with balance, bug hunt and more. All hail Kintaii
- Die Neu Welt (RK3) is going to merge with RK1 and RK2. From what I have seen on testlive, they have many good PvPers, so it will bring more activity on this side.
- Telbot and Cratbot will get a dedicated server which will work much better (faster connection, new computer)
- CFI will stay strong and united !

I hope you all had a great evening, now it is time to recover...

Ingame Mail System
The ingame mail system has hit TestLive dimension. Using good old reclaim terminals (transformed into mailboxes), you can send and receive up to 30 mails at a time, with 1 item per mail and some money. You can also request money for an item (if using C.O.D. option) that the user will pay before accepting.

The receiver will get it after 30 minutes in his own mailbox, or 2 minutes if you used the Express (but more expensive) option. You can easily transfer items and money to your alts on same account with this system for a small fee.

Feel free to test it out and report any bug you can find.

Note: Froobs can only receive mails.

Professional Program Reloaded
Professional Program - Check it out !

This last Friday with(out) Means came with a good surprise about the revamp of Professional Program.

First of all, the application process has been completly changed into a nomination / voting process :
  1. Players may submit a nominee for a Professional to the following email address: nominations@anarchy-online.com. When writing this email, the following format has to be used (nothing more) :

(Subject) [PROFESSION] Professional Nomination - [CHARACTERFORUMNAME]
    (Body) [link]

So an email would look like the following sample:

(Subject): Bureaucrat Professional Nomination - Malaxia
    (Body): http://forums.anarchy-online.com/member.php?u=672355

  2. After the nominations period is up, one week will be spent compiling the information and contacting the parties who have been successfully nominated. After this week period has finished, a Funcom-created thread will appear in each Profession-specific forum for "Campaign Speeches". Each candidate will have the opportunity to write up a biography and a message for the player-base as to why they should be elected as a Professional. These posts will be written by the candidates and posted by a Funcom representative.

  3. A voting thread will be created by Funcom personnel. This thread will have all of the eligible nominees listed in a poll, which the player-base may then vote on. This voting process will last for ten days. After this ten day voting process has concluded, the two candidates with the most votes will go on to become the Professionals for their chosen Profession.
  4. Every 3 months, the players will have the opportunity to vote one or both professional out if they were not convincing.
  5. Every 9 months, the whole process restarts.
You can find more details here : http://www.anarchy-online.com/wsp/anarchy/frontend.cgi?func=publish.show&template=content&func_id=2551&table=CONTENT

News for the masses...
Alright, it was posted last week that Test Live was getting Instanced Pande and an option to reset Map on your character. Also the new instanced org cities are being implemented. What does this mean for you? Well for one, Funcom is looking for people to help test the system. I know that we have many individuals that this will likely effect so it might be a good time to have your character copied to Test Live and go for some of these new goodies.

To transfer your character, just log into http://register.funcom.com and choose to use a Paid Service. Choose Test Live Transfer (Free) and your character gets moved. That simple. I have already done this for me so hopefully we can see all of you there as well!

Test Server should be up shortly and we can get the chance to have a go at new instanced Pandemonium (or the non-instanced version should you so desire.) or be the first to build your own Organization city on one of the new "Serenity Islands" custom built off the Coast Of Peace. The door to the "Sunrise Station", the new orbital apartments is not active yet but will be the second we can safely fit the playfield into the database...which I am hoping is some time next week...it comes with a new vehicle too. See screenies.

Reset your Map Navigation skill? Sure..no problem. Start thinking about what to put in your client side chat filter...mine will have the words "fix" and "nerf" in it. Check out your hostile nanos running on others. There is so much new stuff in this update I'm having a tough time remembering it all. I'm certain you guys will have a great time ripping through the new database.

Hey Nerds!
Hey everybody, gonna start a new trend to try and post any news items once again on the forums. I hope that we can get some people back this way since the site is somewhat lonely. I will be buzzing around online here, on IRC and if you want to visit my other org site www.aounited.org since I am not ingame too often.

So with that said, in other news they are gearing up with the new graphics engine a bit more. Gonna post a screenie of the new character model concepts but hopefully we get to see that soon. Anyway drop a line and I hope to see you all again shortly!

Happy Holidays to All!
Seasons Greetings Cosmic Forklift!

At this special time of year it is always good to remember your friends and rediscover the companionship that we felt as friends. Yes we were a guild of individuals but more importantly we are still a guild of friends who simply had interests we could share. Through both hardship and good times we have still remained a guild of friends and more importanly family. I hope that this Christmas season brings all of you the happyness and joy that you want and that you will still remember the fun we have had in years past.

Lost Eden is live!
The expansion is now live and players are enjoying the battlestations and the alien motherships as well as already making progress on the first global research projects. All dimensions should start to see the first vehicles unlocked over the weekend (unless peoples research habits change from what we have seen so far that is!) We are very pleased to see people enjoying the content and are currently preparing the first post launch update to correct the issue with some of the personal research actions. The update will be tested over the weekend and look for it to hit the live dimensions sometime next week. We will let you know the details as soon as we have them. Have a great weekend and with a little luck we will see some of you stomping around in mechs!

Community Update 18th August 2006
Game Updates

The 16.3 update is being put through its final paces and preparations on the test dimension. We hope to be able to release the update on the live dimenions next week. Keep your eyes out for the update schedule early next week. You can find the preliminary content notes for the update over on our official forums and you can discuss them on the update forum as well.

Funcom at Dragoncon

A reminder this week that the Dragoncon convention in Atlanta is closing in fast and we will again be having a player gathering for people to come and meet us and chat about the game and join in on some competitions and fun! There will be members of the development team there to answer your questions and join in the fun! All players of Funcom titles are welcome to come by the booth and meet US as well members of ARK and the GridStream Production Crew. See the Dragoncon schedule for times and locations. Stop by the Funcom booth in the Marriott (booth 211) for info on a special Saturday night gathering. Attend in costume or bring an item fashioned after one from Anarchy Online and get a prize, and be sure to study up for the AO trivia contest! If you are attending and want to reserve a place at one of our evening gatherings please send an email to community@anarchyonline with the subject line “Dragoncon gathering” with your name and details. Space will be limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Dragoncon is a great convention and a whole lot of fun and we look forward to seeing you all there! Have a great weekend on Rubi-Ka!
